Southwest
Native American Promotions (SWNAP) is owned by Emerson H. Quannie, a
member of the Hopi Tribe and of the Patki (Water) Clan from Northern
Arizona. He established SWNAP in 1994 to promote art venues for Native
American artists in the southwest. His art venues are also open to non-Native
American artists whose emphasis are on Native American themes.
The purpose of SWNAP is to make these art venues successful for all
who participate. SWNAP is dedicated to the promotion of Native American
and Southwestern artists and their art for the general public, art collectors
and representation of quality and authentic art. Many artists participating
in SWNAP art venues are well-known artists with many award winners at
other prestigious art venues: Santa Fe Indian Market (SWAIA) - Santa
Fe, NM; Heard Museum Indian Market - Phoenix, AZ; Pueblo Grande Museum
Indian Market - Phoenix, AZ; West Valley Art Council's Indian Market
- Litchfield, AZ; Eiteljorg Indian Art Show - Indianapolis, IN; Eight
Northern Pueblos Art Show - San Juan Pueblo, NM; Museum of Man Art Show
- San Diego, CA; and the Gene Autry Museum (formerly Southwest Museum)
